A serial start-up founder, Francis works as CEO at Kukula Fund, a Social Investment Enterprise that builds and invests in high growth scalable social enterprises working to empower women and girls in remote communities of Zambia. With an investment focus on Agriculture, Education, Health, Financial Inclusion and Energy, Francis is passionate and committed to empower 100,000 women in Zambia by 2030. Francis was awarded Mandela Washington Fellow in 2017, Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur in 2017, Engineers Without Borders- Canada Kumvana Fellow 2016, Young African Leadership Initiative-YALI RLC SA 2016 and most recently selected in the pioneering group of the Obama Foundation 200 Emerging Leaders: Africa in 2018! Francis founded Kukula Solar with a goal of distributing 100,000 solar lamps to last mile communities of Zambia, Malawi & Mozambique by 2030. Francis has received small grants and donations from individuals and from the USADF to prove his ownership model and social business strategies.
